The eighth episode of House of the Dragon, “The Lord of the Tides,” just came out, and it could be the greatest yet. A lot happened in the most recent episode, from all the characters developing into their final states that would last until the end of the series to King Viserys’s dying, which started the preordained civil war.
Given how King Viserys and Alicent’s final moment plays out, it seems this is uneventful before the storm. Before passing away, Viserys informs Alicient—thinking she is Rhaenyra—that Aegon ought to rule. Aegon, the son of Daemon and Rhaenyra, and not Viserys and Alicient.
Who is Aegon Targaryen’s Wife in House of the Dragon Episode 8?
The only child of King Viserys I Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower, Princess Helaena Targaryen, is Aegon Targaryen’s sister/ wife. Helaena is the elder sister of Aemond and the Younger sister of Aegon.
Helaena is a bright, kind, yet wise young lady who takes a keen interest in bugs. Alicent chooses to wed Helaena to Aegon to support the latter’s claim to the Iron Throne and maintain the Targaryen bloodline’s purity under Old Valyrian custom.
Jaehaerys Targaryen, Jaehaera Targaryen, and Maelor Targaryen are the three children Aegon and Halaena will have. Helaena will serve as Aegon’s Queen Consort if he ascends the Iron Throne. Like every Targaryen, Halaena also has a dragon named, Dreamfyre.
In the show, Evie Allen plays the younger version of Halaena, who appeared in two episodes, the sixth and the seventh episode. Phia Saban plays the grownup version of Halaena, who appeared in episode eight, titled ‘Lord of the Tides.’
