One of the most popular Netflix programs is still Wednesday, a brand-new program centered in the fictional world of The Addams Family. It is inconceivable to believe there won’t be at least a second season, even though it has yet to be renewed. Because of this, the showrunners Miles Millar and Al Gough are already hard at work writing the next chapter in the exploits of the Addams family’s oldest daughter. The two talked candidly with The Hollywood Reporter about the likelihood of a romance developing between Wednesday and her friend Enid.
We are not going to discount anything, and, obviously, sometimes characters reveal themselves, which is the fun thing we love about television, that it is an organic journey. We have a roadmap and would like to have routes along that map that take you in unexpected directions. So, we are open to everything. We wanna explore that friendship in every way.”
The producers are wary of being swayed by viewers’ expectations for the program and its characters. Millar and Gough now watch the program primarily out of friendship and want to continue doing so.
The show is also about this female friendship, with Wednesday and Enid being the center of that. The fact that they connected with audiences has been gratifying. So, we’re excited to explore now that Wednesday has dipped her toe into the friendship pool; what will that look like?”
