During an interview at the trailer premiere of Fast X, Vin Diesel was asked about his dream casting for the film. Without hesitation, he took Robert Downey Jr.’s name and mentioned that there is a character in the film who is Dom Toretto’s adversary. This character promotes AI and driverless cars, which is completely beyond Toretto’s thinking.
Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there’s a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom, There is somebody that believes that’s the future, and that’s at direct odds with the Toretto mentality.
However, when asked by the media if he had approached Robert Downey Jr. for the role, Vin Diesel became frustrated and declined to answer the question by saying, “How dare you ask me this question in front of all these people? I have pride and I have dignity.”
