Tom Holland has provided an exciting update on the possibility of a fourth Spider-Man film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The talented 27-year-old actor, known for portraying Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, has appeared in multiple films within the popular Sony/Marvel franchise. While his future in the series has yet to be officially confirmed, Holland has expressed his enthusiasm to reprise the iconic role in future projects.
During the premiere of his new Apple TV+ series, The Crowded Room, Holland spoke to Variety and revealed that discussions for a fourth MCU Spider-Man movie are currently underway.
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) initiated a union action on May 2, addressing concerns related to pay, streaming, and integrating artificial intelligence in screenwriting. However, progress has been temporarily halted due to the ongoing writers’ strike in Hollywood. As a result, many film and television productions, including Spider-Man 4, have been put on hold.

Holland explained that he has had “meetings” with Marvel executives regarding his potential return to the MCU. However, these talks were suspended in solidarity with the striking writers. “I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings, We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.”
Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal, present at the animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse premiere, expressed confidence in the franchise’s future. While acknowledging the impact of the writers’ strike, she assured fans that another film is in the works.
