Tom Hanks is a well-known figure in the Hollywood business. In 1980, He made his official debut as an actor in the Horror/ thriller ‘He Knows You’re Alone.’ He has since worked on various projects and earned two Academy Awards for Best Actor in 1994 and 1995 for his roles in Forrest Gump and Philadelphia. But, he believes that he has only made four “fairly nice” films in his entire career.
Tom Hanks’ statement that he believes just a few movies are worthwhile is undoubtedly a surprise, given that he acted in roughly 80 films. It seems probable that when he made that comment, he was specifically talking about the two projects that helped him win the Oscars, the titles of the other two movies are Mysterious.
In a recent interview with People, Tom Hanks went into great depth about his book, The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece, which focuses on how American society changed following World War II. The actor made a rather forceful statement about his profession while explaining how he infused his film knowledge into the text.
“I’ve done a lot of movies, and four of them are pretty good, I think, and I’m still amazed at how movies are made. From the flickering of an idea to the flickering of the image on the screen, the whole process is a miracle. Making a film is tough work over a very long time which consists of many moments of joy beaten against as many feelings of self-loathing. It’s the biggest job in the world and the most confusing job I know of”.
