One of the few series, “House of the Dragon,” has taken the liberty of changing the main character’s appearance and enjoyed tremendous success.
So here is what the Characters of House of the Dragon would look like, If they were Faithful to the Books.
Viserys Targaryens
Actor Paddy Considine brilliantly portrayed King Viserys, but his appearance could have been more accurate to the books. Viserys was a chubby, amiable man with a contagious smile before he went to bed.
Rhaenyra Targaryen
Actress Emma D’Arcy faithfully captures the physical attributes of Rhaenyra. Still, she differs from the books in one minor way. Rhaenyra is a “strong, thick-waisted” mother of many children.
Daemon Targaryens
According to the books, Daemon is “handsome, ambitious, and courageous.” The physical contrasts that Matt Smith’s persona ought to have concealed. Matt’s personality and character have produced the ideal surface, despite lacking a “pretty face.”
Alicent Hightower
Alice’s character from the “Fire and Blood” books is precisely like Olivia Cooke’s. She is referred to in the books as “slender and elegant,” Unlike Rhaenyra, she still has her grace and figure.
Criston Cole
Criston Cole is described as having coal-black hair and green eyes. Although Fabien Frankel doesn’t have green eyes, he did a great job of capturing the character’s “obnoxious personality.”
Rhaenys Targaryens
One of the characters who underwent the most changes in the series was Rhaenys. She is described as having dark hair that gradually turns gray in the books. She has violet eyes and is a woman.
Laenor Velaryon
Many believe Laenor’s complexion was changed for the series, even though it was never stated if he had a dark face. Laenor has “silver hair and violet eyes like his mother’s,” according to the books.
Mysaria
Another character who appears entirely different in the books is Misarya. She is known as a “White Worm” because of her pale skin tone.
