Netflix recently released the trailer for the third season of The Witcher, the final season that will feature Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. However, the actor’s replacement by, Liam Hemsworth, has caused fans uproar.
The trailer has received massive dislikes on Netflix’s YouTube account, with over 320,000 expressions of dissatisfaction compared to only 63,000 likes at the time of this article.
Cavill announced his departure from the show on Instagram almost a year ago, stating that he would be laying down his medallion and his swords for Season 4.
In his place, Liam Hemsworth was chosen to take up the mantle of the White Wolf. Despite the positive words from both actors about the change, the announcement has been met with adverse reactions from fans.
As a fan of The Witcher, Hemsworth expressed his excitement at the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia on Instagram. He acknowledged Cavill’s incredible character portrayal and was honored to be handed the reins. However, it remains to be seen if he can fill the shoes of Cavill, who had become an inspiration to many show fans.
