The Whale, directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Brendan Fraser and Sadie Sink, was recently given its debut trailer by A24 and is now available online.
We may get a fleeting glimpse of the main character, an obese guy confined to a small apartment, and Sadie Sink. She plays her daughter in the very few shots provided to us.
The movie The Whale has divided the public’s view. At the same time, Brendan Fraser received praise for his outstanding portrayal on the one hand. Harsh voices have emerged who are incensed that Brenden was selected as the protagonist rather than a genuine fat homosexual guy.
Particularly loud were the comments made by actor Daniel Franzese. He had previously expressed his skepticism about the selection in an interview with People.
I love Brendan Fraser, so I’m very torn. Seeing him get up so docilely to receive the standing ovation in Venice and living that moment, I was very happy for him. He is a lovely man. And he is excellent. But why? Why wear a fat suit to play a 200-pound queer?
