Shawn Levy has taken over from David Leitch as the director of the third film in the Deadpool series. This quirky character is one of the most unusual creations to come out of Marvel, a fearless, almost immortal warrior who is also one of their most entertaining comic book characters.
Tim Miller directed the first film in 2016, which was a huge success, followed by an equally successful sequel. Unfortunately, the production of the third installment was partially halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters in 2024, and for the first time, it will be directed by Shawn Levy, known for his work on projects such as Night at the Museum, Free Guy, and The Adam Project.
Ryan Reynolds will return to play the titular anti-hero. This time, he will be joined by another iconic Marvel character: Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, who returns after his departure in James Mangold’s Logan – The Wolverine.
Rob Delaney will return in Deadpool 3
The film will also see the return of Rob Delaney in the role of Peter, a character from the previous movie who won over audiences with his irreverence. Peter is an average human who wants to join Wade Wilson’s team, which makes him an odd fit with the rest of the group.
