The fifth season of Money Heist (La casa de Papel) finished last year. The streaming service launched one of the first Spanish fiction spinoffs, Berlin, after a successful run on Netflix. Netflix announced in November that the sequel would tell the backstory of the character played by Pedro Alonso.
Fans will get the chance to get to know the figure that created Berlin with The Professor, which has remained a fan favorite from the start of the series. Even while not much do we know about this spinoff, it will be a prequel and depict Berlin’s time traveling around Europe as a thief.
In the last few hours, Netflix released new details about Berlin and confirmed who will be the actors and actresses who will accompany Alonso in this new adventure.
The prequel will accompany well-known figures from the Spanish Film Industry. Michelle Jenner, Joel Sánchez, Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña, and Tristan Ulloa were among them.
Although the character profiles might remind you of the crew Berlin was a part of during Money Heist, the show’s creators assure you that the tone will be different.
What to Expect from the Berlin Spin-off?
Alex Pina and Esther M. Lobato realized as they worked on the screenplays that Berlin would have its genre, history, and distinct personality. They also pledge to improve the show’s tone, making it “lighter.” The creative team asserted, “We feel people need that cozy, fun, and romantic comedy attitude right now.
Alonso has once more demonstrated his intense passion for bringing this character to life, giving him so much delight. The actor stated: “For me, this role is like being handed the keys to a theme park.
France and Spain will be the Secondary location for filming, with Paris serving as the initial location for the action. We do not know the show’s release date, but according to the film’s makers, it may happen in the second half of 2023.
