After co-starring in the famous sitcom Friends alongside Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow has now opened out about her struggles with body image.
While Lisa Kudrow is best known for portraying the lovable, witty, and self-assured Phoebe Buffay on television, the actress recently spoke up about her concerns off-camera. The “jarring” encounter, according to Kudrow, was what inspired her to go on a quest for self-awareness and self-love.
Recently, Kudrow talked openly about having body-image issues while working on the Friends movie with Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston. The three actresses are also closest friends in real life, but Kudrow quickly discovers she isn’t like her other co-stars when she first arrives on set.
Lisa, who played Phoebe Buffay in the popular sitcom, admitted during her interview on the Podcrushed podcast that her female Friends co-stars “triggered” her weight issues.
Lisa reflected on her appearance, “It was not until Friends that I realized, ‘Oh, I do not look like I thought I looked.”
“And that is what was so jarring, and that is when it was like, ‘Oh, I have got to lose weight? Do I have to diet? Shoot, ‘ recalled the actress.
Lisa said, “I am not trying to say I was overweight either. I was not. I just had no idea the shape of my actual body.”
Lately, she’s learned to accept her body, adding, “I just realized, ‘Oh, no – it is okay. This is just what I look like. That is okay. Do what you need to do to be healthy, but this is your body, and it is okay.'”
