In December 2024, Jordan Peele’s fourth feature film as a director will be released in US theaters.
Universal Pictures, which distributed Peele’s previous films, announced the upcoming release without providing any information on the plot, cast, or crew.
Peele is known for keeping his projects under wraps, often only revealing plot details once the films are released. His directorial debut, Get Out, was released on February 24th, 2017, followed by Us on March 29th, 2019, and Nope on July 22nd, 2022. And now, this untitled film will open in theaters on December 25th, 2024.
The upcoming film will mark Peele’s first December release, a busy month in the film industry, with multiple blockbuster releases and award contenders. Other highly anticipated movies set to release in December 2024 include Avatar 3 and Sonic 3, both scheduled for December 20th.
Jordan Peele’s first movie, the psychological horror film “Get Out” from 2017, was a critical and commercial success, earning four Oscar nominations and grossing $255 million. His next film, the doppelgänger thriller “Us” from 2019, also made $255 million globally. Peele’s most recent project, “Nope,” released in 2022 and featuring “Get Out” star Daniel Kaluuya, collected over $170 million worldwide.
Following the release of Nope, Peele hinted at the possibility of a sequel to the film, stating, “We’re not done telling all these stories.” However, as early as 2017, the director spoke about a potential sequel to Get Out. Whether the upcoming film will continue his previous works or a standalone story remains to be seen.
