At The Game Awards 2022, CD PROJEKT RED debuted a brand-new teaser trailer for Phantom Liberty, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 spy-thriller expansion. The teaser includes brand-new gameplay, an in-game video, and the introduction of Idris Elba, a new cast member who will join Keanu Reeves in the latest Chapter of Cyberpunk 2077.
What a year it has been for the world of Cyberpunk 2077! One of Netflix’s best anime series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, has proven to be a success that extends beyond the video game industry. The Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has given the CD PROJEKT RED game, which had a somewhat dismal beginning, new life. Even the video game discontinued upon release was brought back to life thanks to the success of the Trigger studio series. One million players per day, to be exact, were inspired to resume racing through Night City’s corrupted streets.
Keanu Reeves, who starred in The Matrix, is one of the main characters in Cyberpunk 2077, demonstrating how video games and film have always existed. A new installment of the CD PROJEKT RED world, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, was revealed on the night of the Game Awards. Idris Elba will appear in this DLC as well.
Idris Elba in the new Chapter of Cyberpunk 2077
The mysterious new character is a master of espionage and survival. Idris Elba will play NUSA agent Solomon Reed, a Night City government agent, in the DLC in addition to Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand. It seems Reed will clash with Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand, who is infamously an anarchist and loathes all forces that control Night City. Elba’s voice-over suggests he’ll be a staunch ally to protagonist V. His commentary on the event trailer explores Reed’s part in the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion but has yet to set a specific release date (it will be available in 2023).
