The information that thousands of moviegoers and everyone who keeps track of movie spoilers already know has now been formally confirmed by Henry Cavill.
He “came back” as Superman after Black Adam, though it’s not yet known precisely where (perhaps the rumored Man of Steel 2?) he’ll play the character next.
“I wanted to make it official that I am back as Superman and the image you see in this post and what you saw in Black Adam are a very small taste of what’s to come,” Cavill also thanked fans for their support and promised they will all be “rewarded.”
While Superman’s appearance in Black Adam was widely known when it debuted last week, Cavil was persuaded to return as Superman by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Henry Cavill for Man of Steel 2?
His tenure as the character was rumored to be coming to an end after many speculations in 2018. That was the time between Justice League’s initial release and Zack Snyder’s enhanced film cut for HBO Max. It was also before DC started to see a cinematic comeback with movies like Aquaman and Shazam.
Johnson’s entrance into the DCEU offers some new direction for DC under Warner Bros. Discovery, while Superman has been dominating the Black Adam news cycle. Primary sources said that one of Warner Bros’ objectives would be concentrating on well-known characters like Superman.
This might be heading to a new status quo for the DCEU, along with the ongoing individual tales of Shazam, Aquaman, and whatever future world alterations will follow The Flash.
