Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay in the popular sitcom Friends, recently recalled a sexist incident that occurred during the show’s filming. Lisa Kudrow gained fame as Phoebe Buffay on the beloved 90s sitcom Friends, which also featured Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer.
During an appearance on US TV’s Watch What Happens Live, Kudrow recounted a guest star’s demeaning comment towards her after she put on makeup. Specifically, the guest star said she was “f*ckable.” The incident highlights the ongoing issue of sexism in the entertainment industry.
I rehearsed without makeup most of the week, and then on show night I’m in hair and makeup and I was told, ‘Oh wow, NOW you’re’ – can I say it? ‘Now you’re f*ckable.’
While Kudrow didn’t reveal the identity of the guest star, she confirmed it wasn’t Charlie Sheen, who appeared in the episode “The One With The Chicken Pox.” The actress told her co-star Matt LeBlanc about the incident because “he’s like a big brother” to her.
