In the past four months, there have been several speculations that Elon Musk is either buying Twitter or is simply playing around. But as of right now, these are no longer rumors; the CEO of Tesla paid $44 billion to acquire Twitter.
What Elon could try to alter at Twitter now that he is in control has been the subject of much discussion. Several protests have prevented Musk from purchasing Twitter, but at this point, it is Elon’s show, and he makes the decisions.
It was also said that Musk would fire at least 75% of the company’s staff if he bought Twitter.
On his official Twitter Page, he shared a lengthy statement announcing the good news. He explained that he bought Twitter because he thinks society needs a common online forum where various points of view may be debated amicably and without resorting to violence. There is a danger that social media echo chambers on the extreme right and far left will spread hate and further polarize our society…
