Bob Odenkirk, who played Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, was almost cast as the main lead in The Office.
Bob auditioned for the role of Michael Scott in The Office, but the part ultimately went to Steve Carell. The latter did a fantastic job portraying the character.
Odenkirk described Michael as “a little harsher, meaner and darker,” Carell portrayed Michael Scott as “an imbecile and jackass.”

Even though he didn’t get the job, he left enough of an impression to get a cameo on the program several years later. The last season’s “Moving On” episode has Pam doing an interview at a new workplace run by Bob Odenkirk. She learns to her surprise, that her prospective employer is essentially a Michael Scott from another reality, whose jokes are even darker.
