Michael Cuesta, known for directing popular TV shows Homeland and Dexter, has now joined the Daredevil: Born Again team as its director.
Daredevil: Born Again, the highly anticipated sequel, will consist of 18 episodes, with production set to commence soon and a streaming release scheduled for spring 2024. Michael Cuesta is no stranger to high-profile debuts, having previously directed the pilot episodes of acclaimed series such as Dexter and Homeland.
About Daredevil: Born Again
The lead role of Daredevil will once again be played by Charlie Cox, who portrayed the masked superhero in the original three seasons of the Netflix series and more recently in She-Hulk. Joining Cox in the cast are two other familiar faces from the Netflix show: Vincent D’Onofrio as the villainous Wilson Fisk and Jon Bernthal as the violent Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher. It is still being determined if other actors from the original series will reprise their roles in the reboot.
Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gaston, and Sandrine Holt are also set to appear in Daredevil: Born Again. Matt Corman and Chris Ord will serve as writers and producers for the new series.
While the director’s identity for episodes beyond the first has yet to be announced, sources indicate that multiple directors will helm multi-episode blocks. Further details about Daredevil: Born Again are eagerly awaited by fans, and any updates will be shared as soon as they become available.
