Deadpool 3 screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have revealed that Disney is ‘very supportive’ of keeping the film Rated R ‘Deadpool is gonna be Deadpool” .
The next Deadpool movie , Will be the first of the saga to be part of the MCU. So many are worried that this is to be understood as a sweetening of the character and his, now iconic, extreme violence and vulgarity of him.
However, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick , who wrote the first two Deadpool films and are working on the third for director Shawn Levy , told that joining MCU won’t change the overall feel fans have loved in the works.
It’s creepy – Reese said about the franchise. It’s really exciting to put the team back together, having a new background in the MCU with new characters, new villains, that sort of thing. You know, it’s never a wedding we planned, the one between Fox and Disney. It used to be an external thing, separate from our storytelling process. But we are definitely finding gold in this situation. Or at least we’re trying.
They have been very supportive of it – he added. Now, when it comes to a particular line, if we cross a line, maybe at some point we will hear: “Maybe we better avoid that line.” But I think they were incredibly supportive of what we were doing, because obviously we did it separately from them for a long time, and I think they saw success while they were having even more. So hopefully it’s a perfect wedding. But we definitely have their support, and that’s a great thing to try.
