Amsterdam had an $80 million budget but only grossed $6.5 million during its opening weekend at the box office, with the studio’s anticipated losses approaching $100 million.
Not only did the movie perform poorly at the box office, but critics have given mainly unfavorable reviews. It presently has a 33% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Parker Finn’s Smile, on the other hand, had a startlingly strong domestic launch this weekend, taking the top spot with $22 million and a 78% Rotten Tomatoes score.
