Christian Bale is one of the most renowned actors of this era; In fact, he is one of those actors who can appear in disappointing movies. Still, he will give his heart to the character he is playing.
Recently he appeared in one such movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe called Thor: Love and Thunder; though the movie was generally a miss, Bale’s performance as Gorr: The God Butcher was quite noteworthy.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bale admitted that he would love to play a specific role in the beautiful world created by George Lucas; yes, we’re talking about Star Wars.
He revealed that he always wanted to play the Stormtrooper in A New Hope, the soldier who accidentally bangs his head against the door jamb at the film’s beginning. It’s an iconic, if hard to spot, the moment that has become a cherished piece of Star Wars mythology among fans.
All I ever wanted in Star Wars was to wear a Star Wars outfit and bang my head against a door or something as I walked in. True nerds who have watched Star Wars too often have always known about that scene where the Stormtrooper bangs his head against the door as he walks in. I wanted to be the one there.
But just because Bale is committed to playing that particular role doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be open to expanding his Star Wars role.
It would be a great pleasure. I still have the same passion as when I was little. I also know Kathleen Kennedy very well because she worked alongside Steven Spielberg when I made Empire of the Sun, and now she is the head of the Star Wars universe.
