The “Beetlejuice” sequel is finally happening! Warner Bros. has announced that the movie will hit theaters on September 6, 2024, and we can hardly wait! Michael Keaton is set to reprise his legendary role as the ghost with the most, Beetlejuice, and he’ll be joined by none other than Wednesday Star, Jenna Ortega, who will play the daughter of Winona Ryder’s character from the first film, Ryder will also return as Lydia Deetz.
Justin Theroux will also be joining the cast of Beetlejuice; the details of his characters are still scarce, like the film’s plot. But we know that Danny Elfman is on board to compose the music. Elfman is super excited to work with Tim Burton again and reckons Keaton will have no problem slipping back into the role of Beetlejuice, thanks to the amazing makeup job.
If you’re like us, you’ve been waiting for this sequel for eons. It all started in 1990 when Burton proposed “Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian.” But sadly, that project never got off the ground. Since then, there have been many rumors and false starts for the “Beetlejuice” sequel, and it seemed like it would never happen. But thanks to the perseverance of Warner Bros. and the involvement of Keaton and Ortega, it’s finally coming to a cinema near you!
We still don’t know if any other stars from the first movie will pop up, but we don’t care. We’re just excited to see Keaton back in action as the mischievous Beetlejuice, and we can’t wait to see what kind of crazy hijinks he gets up to this time around.
