The first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, directed by Jon Favreau, featured actor Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. Since then, he has played Tony Stark, the brilliant billionaire, in 11 movies. Tony Stark was one of the MCU’s most essential and influential characters. He appeared in multiple films within the MCU like, including Iron Man trilogy, Captain America: Civil War, all every Avengers movie, i.e., Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. But still, to this, Robert Downey Jr. confesses he misses many things about Marvel Movies.
When his character gave his life in the climactic fight against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, Downey Jr. exited the MCU after 11 years.
Later, Marvel films frequently refer to his sacrifice. However, Tony’s impact lives on in the MCU long after his passing. And his influence is still felt today because IronHeart and Armor Wars, two upcoming series, are based on the legacy of his character.
Robert Downey Jr. confesses what he misses most about Marvel Movies.
“What do I miss the most? Being in the trenches with Kevin Feige all the time. The beginning, with Jon Favreau, is now like a lovely dream. In between, with Shane Black in Iron Man 3, we had just had Exton and we filmed it mostly in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was idyllic and inflammatory. And The End, when I realized that I had made so many close friends in the MCU cast, and the Russo brothers helped me embrace Tony’s arc.”
