The Shang-Chi star, Simu Liu, accuses the golden age of Hollywood of being racist in response to Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese’s criticisms about Marvel Movies. He also slams Quentin Tarantino for attacking Marvel Movies.
The Marvel star of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings speaks openly about the accusations of racism leveled against the cinema of the golden age by great modern and contemporary filmmakers like Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino.
Liu claimed that Golden Age movies were undoubtedly much more “white” than the inclusiveness sparked by the Marvel movies.
Simu Liu responded to his criticisms of the Marvel movie on Twitter with an open letter. The Shang-Chi actor acknowledged Tarantino and Martin Scorsese’s influence on general cinema., but felt that “they can’t point their noses at me or anyone.”
If the only gatekeepers to movie stardom came from Tarantino and Scorsese, I would never have had the opportunity to lead a $400 million plus movie.

Tarantino specifically criticized those producing MCU films in one of the most recent interviews promoting his non-fiction book, Cinema Speculation. He said the studio only looks for “a mercenary” to bring the different films to life on screen.
In Tarantino’s opinion, the issue would be that no other movies would have been produced, only Marvel movies. Tarantino claims that this is the reason why the worst period in film history.
