The primary cast of the new Netflix series based on Guy Ritchie’s crime drama comedy The Gentlemen have been finalized. According to reports, the series will serve as a prequel to Ritchie’s 2019 film. It includes Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Together with Matthew Read, Ritchie co-wrote the series’ pilot script. The British director is slated to direct two episodes of the show for Netflix. Along with Miramax TV and Moonage Pictures, Ritchie will serve as an executive producer.
Variety said Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, and Peter Serafinowicz rounded out the remaining new cast members. Vinnie Jones and Guy Ritchie will reunite in the Gentlemen series after more than 20 years apart.
With a $115 million global box office haul, the 2019 movie The Gentleman was regarded as a commercial triumph. Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey, Collin Farrell, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Charlie Hunnam, Jeremy Strong, and Eddie Marsan were among the actors who starred in it.
