Jake Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Aniston found early success in the 2002 movie The Good Girl but made the Movie more complex.
In an interview on The Howard Stern Show, Jake opened up about what it was like to film his more intimate scenes with his Jennifer Aniston. Gyllenhaal first said that recording such moments was “torture,” but later added, “But it was also not torturing.”
Jake Gyllenhaal said that due to his intense love for Jennifer Aniston, it was very challenging for him to film intimate scenes with her. The two got along a lot on the set of the romantic comedy The Good Girl.
During the filming of the Movie, the actor described the process of filming any love scene as “oddly mechanical.” He said, “Weirdly, love situations are tricky because maybe 30, 50 others are looking. I find that challenging.
You’re also choreographing a dance for the camera. You are welcome to take part; however, fight scenes need choreography.
Gyllenhaal stated that Aniston was a fantastic and very helpful co-star. She even recommended they employ “the pillow method” by placing a cushion between them while filming the segments, even though the whole experience was highly uncomfortable.
He added, “I think Jennifer put that forth.” She said that before we got going, which was kind of her. Just the phrase “I’m laying a cushion here” was all she said.
