Ezra Miller practically entered a not-guilty plea to felony burglary charges on Monday, October 17, in a Vermont court. The actor could spend up to 26 years in jail if found guilty.
Variety reports that Miller, charged with breaking into a home in Stamford, Vermont, on May 1, 2017, appeared in Bennington Superior Court with their attorney.
After an initial investigation, Vermont State Police learned that the missing alcohol had been taken from the house while the owners were away.
Police accused Miller of criminal burglary after gathering statements and analyzing security footage.
In Vermont Superior Court this morning, Ezra Miller entered a not-guilty plea to one count of burglary and one count of petty theft. He also agreed to the court’s order not to approach or enter the residents’ residence, according to Miller’s attorney Lisa B. Shelkrot.
According to the newspaper, the petit larceny accusation claims that the entire worth of the stolen goods was less than $900. Maximum sentences for the felony burglary offense are 25 years in jail and a $1,000 fine. The maximum penalty for robbery is one year in prison and a fine of $1,000. Miller also consented to refrain from contacting the owners or returning to the house.
Previous Multiple Charges
Due to their two arrests in Hawaii in a single month, Miller has recently been the focus of debates and legal concerns. Both disorderly behavior and harassment led to the first arrest, while the second-degree assault was the reason for the second. Later, the harassment accusation was dropped. In addition, Miller is charged with harassing the third lady in her Berlin home and choking a woman in a pub.
Miller expressed regret for their earlier erratic behavior and announced that they had started receiving mental health therapy in August. Miller had previously stated in a statement,
“Having just gone through a moment of severe distress, I now recognize that I am suffering from complicated mental health difficulties and have started continuing therapy.” “I want to apologize to everyone that my previous actions may have shocked or disturbed me. I’m determined to put in the effort required to return to a safe, secure, and productive stage of my life.
Ezra Miller will play Flash in Warner Bros.’s solo movie The Flash, scheduled for release in June 2023.
