Since the first episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a brand-new series set in JRR Tolkien’s Narrative Universe, were released on Amazon, Thousands of criticisms have poured in.
The show has been criticized for having black characters in a Medieval Time where there shouldn’t be any. Many people have spoken out in favor of the series and its stars throughout the days.
Orlando Bloom, who played Legolas in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy, shared a photo with Ismael Cruz Córdova. This actor portrays the elf in the Amazon series. He had to deal with several online racist comments.

In addition to the collective shot, Bloom also wrote Mellon, meaning beloved Friend. The characters in the original 2001 movie used this term, “Friend,” to unlock the Mines of Moria’s doors.
In an interview, Ismael Cruz Córdova revealed that he has endured daily online attacks “composed of pure and brutal hatred” for the past two years since it was revealed that he would appear in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
“I fought so hard for this role for this very reason. I felt that I could carry that torch. I ensured my elf was the most Elven, the most incredible, because I knew this was coming. You can never use it as an excuse: ‘But elves don’t look like that.’ They didn’t, but now they do.”
