After the controversial Oscar night, when Will Smith smacked comedian Chris Rock for making a crude joke about the actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett during Academy Awards, many people spoke out against the actor. One of these was what Zoe Kravitz had to say about him. She had uploaded two images on Instagram with the words “love” before deleting the post.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Zoe Kravitz expressed guilt for attacking Will Smith during the Academy Awards.

She was, however, obliged to take a step back after the numerous waves of abuse she had received. Returning to her conversation with the Wall Street Journal regarding those times, the Batman actor said:
I’m torn about what to say now; why should I talk about it? I have very complicated feelings about this story. I wish I had handled it differently. And that’s okay. It is a scary time to have an opinion or to say the wrong thing or to make art or controversial statements or thoughts or whatever. It’s mostly scary because art is about the conversation. This should, in my opinion, always be the point. The internet is the opposite of conversation. Internet is people who say things without consequences.
I was reminded that I am an artist. Being an artist doesn’t mean everyone loves you or everyone thinks you’re sexy. It’s about expressing something that will hopefully spark a conversation or inspire people to make them feel seen. I think I’m in a place right now where I don’t want to express myself through a caption or a tweet. I want to express myself through art.
