Peacock has released the first trailer for their upcoming series, John Wick’s Prequel, The Continental, which will be available on the streaming platform in September.
The show is set in the same world as the John Wick franchise and will have three feature-length episodes. The series serves as a prequel to the films and explores the origins of the hotel-for-assassins centerpiece through the eyes of a young Winston Scott, played by Colin Woodell, who takes on the role originally portrayed by Ian McShane in the movies. Ayomide Adegun represents a young Charon, initially played by the late Lance Riddick.
The series is set in gritty 1970s New York City, where Winston is drawn into the dark underworld of the hotel and must confront a past that he thought he had left behind. He navigates through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a dangerous attempt to seize the hotel, where he will eventually ascend to his future throne.
The show promises to offer a fresh take on the beloved John Wick universe, filled with action, drama, and suspense.
In addition to Woodell and Adegun, The Continental also features a star-studded cast, including Mel Gibson, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate, Katie McGrath, Sallay Garnett, Ray McKinnon, and Peter Greene. The John Wick franchise fans will want to experience this thrilling new series.
