Emma Stone Found Out She Had Asthma During an Intimate Scene in Easy A
In one scene, Stone’s character pretends to have s*x with her friend Brandon to make it seem like they are in a relationship. Stone had a minor asthma attack during the filming of this scene, which was the first time she realized she had asthma.
In her interview with MTV, Stone recounted the experience as “humiliating” as it happened early in production. She feared the crew would judge her for having an asthma attack during a s*x scene.
Stone described the scene as one where she had to jump up and down for hours, screaming on the bed. She joked that she couldn’t even fake s*x without dying.
Easy A was Stone’s breakout role, helping launch her career and make her known to the general public. The movie retells Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel The Scarlet Letter, with Stone’s character using her newly acquired reputation to help hapless male students. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Stone’s performance was praised for its wit and charm.
