The production of Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the hit film featuring Joaquin Phoenix as the Gotham Clown, is underway and set to hit theaters on October 4, 2024.
As filming continues, new photos from the set have surfaced online, revealing the arrival of a significant character in Batman’s history – Harvey Dent, the district attorney who eventually becomes the villain Two-Face.
In the photos, we see a crowd with signs praising the Joker’s release and expressing disdain towards Dent, suggesting that he is still in his legal form at the beginning of the film. However, details about the plot remain scarce.
We know that Phoenix’s Arthur will not be alone in this chapter. He will be joined by Lady Gaga, who will play the infamous Harley Quinn, the Joker’s girlfriend and one of his pawns. While the canonical story depicts Harley as a psychiatrist who falls in love with the Joker, rumors suggest that the film may take a different approach and portray her as a patient at Arkham Asylum.
It remains to be seen if the film will similarly deviate from the source material in portraying Harvey Dent, who may not become a fearsome villain. With the movie still in production, fans eagerly await further updates and details about the highly anticipated sequel.
