In an interview with Variety, Donnie Yen, who played Caine, the blind assassin in Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4, expressed his desire to star in a spinoff centered around his character.
When asked about the possibility of a Caine spinoff, Yen revealed that there are always discussions in Hollywood. However, scheduling conflicts due to his media company in China have hindered his participation in the project.
Confirmed John Wick’s Spinoff
While a Caine-led John Wick spinoff has yet to be confirmed, Lionsgate has already approved a few spinoff projects, including Ballerina, featuring Ana de Armas in the lead role, and The Continental.
Peacock has picked up this prequel series for a multi-year deal. Details on both projects are scarce, but Ballerina will reportedly follow de Armas’ character seeking vengeance for her family’s murder, while The Continental will delve into the franchise’s origins.
