Released in 1958, the movie is considered one of the greatest thrillers ever. The plot follows the story of John “Scottie” Ferguson, a detective in San Francisco who is forced to retire due to his severe Vertigo. After being hired to tail Madeleine (Kim Novak), a friend’s wife, Scottie becomes enamored with her. However, when she tragically falls to her death, Scottie’s obsession takes a strange and disturbing turn.
Robert Downey Jr Set to Star in Hitchcock Thriller Vertigo
Despite being almost 70 years old, Vertigo is still regarded as a masterpiece of cinema. That’s why Paramount has acquired the rights to create a new version of the classic, and Robert Downey Jr. is said to be the perfect choice for the lead role.
The renowned actor, famous for portraying Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, might be producing the project alongside his wife, Susan Downey, through their production company, Team Downey. John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment would also be involved in the production.
