During the promotional tour for John Wick: Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski participated in a post-screening Q&A at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
According to Variety, during the Q&A session, a fan from the crowd shouted, “I’ll marry you!” in response to Reeves revealing that he kept his watch and wedding ring from the previous John Wick films. Reeves responded to the proposal with a joking caution, “Yeah, be careful what you wish for.”
Another fan screamed, “Bring back ‘Constantine‘,” referencing Reeves’ cherished 2005 DC adaptation, to which he said, “I’m trying, man.”
About John Wick: Chapter 4
John Wick 4 is the fourth installment of the action-packed film series featuring Keanu Reeves as the master assassin. Chapter 4 will continue where the last movie, Parabellum, left off, with a wounded Wick teaming up with Bowery King to fight the Great Table, a council of twelve crime lords ruling the underworld’s most powerful criminal organizations.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to arrive in theaters on March 24.
John Wick Spinoff
Additionally, Lionsgate has announced The Continental, a spinoff series that delves into the origins of the famous hotel refuge for assassins. The Continental will feature Ian McShane as Winston, also the director of the hotel in the John Wick film series. Kevin Beggs, head of Lionsgate TV, explained that the idea for the series came from the creative team of the YouTube show Wayne.
The show will explore the hotel’s history, famously a sanctuary where assassins cannot kill anyone. However, once they step outside, they are fair game. The show will be set against a backdrop of a run-down New York in the 1970s with a garbage strike that piled garbage bags on the third floor of most brownstones.
Reeves will also appear as the titular character in the upcoming spinoff film Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas. Len Wiseman, director of the Underworld franchise and executive producer of programs including Swamp Thing, Lucifer, and Sleepy Hollow, will be directing Ballerina.
