In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Rhea Seehorn talks about her new movie, Linoleum, reuniting with Vince Gilligan for her upcoming Tv Show, and the significant challenge of her scene with Aaron Paul in Better Call Saul.
The announcement of another Gilligan project in the works relieved Rhea Seehorn, who played Kim Wexler in the hit series Better Call Saul. Seehorn was mainly known for her sitcom work before joining Better Call Saul, a spinoff about the rise and fall of Jimmy McGill, aka Saul Goodman, and Kim Wexler. Seehorn had formed a close bond with co-star Bob Odenkirk, and the two actors elevated each other’s performances throughout the show’s six seasons.

Now, in Colin West’s drama Linoleum, Seehorn stars alongside another comedian-turned-actor, Jim Gaffigan, who delivers a powerful dramatic performance as TV scientist Cam Edwin. Seehorn plays Erin Edwin, Cam’s wife, who is on the verge of divorcing him before a rocket crashes into their backyard and changes everything.
Seehorn is aware of the pattern that has emerged in her career, working with talented comedians who turn out to be excellent dramatic actors. Despite their comedic backgrounds, she praises both Gaffigan and Odenkirk for their intellectual approach to scene work.

Seehorn is also excited to reunite with Vince Gilligan for a new series on Apple TV+, for which she will play the lead. During the final days of filming Saul, Gilligan informed Seehorn that he had a new project in mind with her in the lead role, which left her in tears.
“As we wrapped up Saul, I bid farewell to some people in person but had to call others who had moved on. I would love to continue working with them wherever they go. Vince Gilligan then revealed that he had written something for me, which made me cry. He had been watching me work on Better Call Saul and realized he should write it for me, which was a huge compliment.”

In Better Call Saul, Rhea Seehorn had to shoot a scene with Aaron Paul much earlier in production due to his availability. The scene required her to portray Kim holding divorce papers and struggling to keep them together.
Seehorn called co-creator Peter Gould to ask for more information about the scene that happened right before hers, which hadn’t been filmed yet, to help her understand the moment before the moment she was portraying. Gould and Vince Gilligan gave Seehorn enough specifics to let her play the scene with Paul.
