Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently discussed the possibility of Jack Sparrow returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in an interview with Deadline.
While the franchise has been at a standstill since the fifth film’s unsuccessful release in 2017 and Johnny Depp’s departure from the role of Jack Sparrow, rumors of his return have been circulating.
Bruckheimer expressed his desire for Depp’s return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise if it were up to him. In an interview with Deadline, Bruckheimer spoke highly of Depp’s abilities and character, praising him. Below is the complete quote from Bruckheimer:
“He’s just so good at what he does and actors recover from things like this. He’s a good individual and he’s a caring individual. He’s somebody that you can rely on and he’s just terrific. I think Johnny is an utter friend and an amazing artist and, again, you go through things in life you wish you hadn’t, but he’s still a talented artist.”

Female-Led Pirate of the Caribbean Film with Margot Robbie
Disney had planned a female reboot starring Margot Robbie, but according to Robbie herself, this project is no longer in development. With the female-led project dead, fans have been speculating about a possible return of Depp’s beloved character.
Despite the excitement surrounding a possible return of Jack Sparrow, doubts have been raised due to Johnny Depp’s recent comments. During his highly publicized trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp reiterated his farewell to the franchise, casting uncertainty over his return.
While the idea of Jack Sparrow’s return is intriguing, it remains to be seen whether or not Depp will actually reprise his role in the future of Pirates of the Caribbean.
